First solids
I had all sorts of objections to photographing this, because I really hate the false sense of importance that has been constructed around the first solids resulting in it being perceived as an important developmental goal and thus encouraging a dangerous assumption that earlier is better and "delaying" solids holds a child back. Even those who proudly say they delay solids are perpetuating this: they're not delaying they are waiting until the time is right!
Enough of the policy stuff though, this is a photo blog not work or Uni. He was cute and funny and so we took a few pictures and videoed it. "Me do it" was very much the attitude and the result was a bit messy. It was sweet potato, for the curious. If he ate two spoonfuls I would be very surprised. He didn't dislike it but had no idea how to swallow it.
